On Sunday, at least nine passengers were injured in a collision between two vehicles on National Highway-44 near Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The accident occurred this morning at Air Strip along the highway. The involved vehicles were identified by their registration numbers as JK21C 8406 and JK16 0948. The injured individuals have been identified as:
– Rumaisa, wife of Ishtiaq Ahmad Sheikh of Sonamarg
– Abdul Qayoom Bairan, son of Nazir Ahmed of Kangan
– Azra, daughter of Irshad Ahmad Sheikh of Kangan
– Ishrat, daughter of Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh of Kangan
– Salreen, wife of Nisar Ahmad Khan of Kangan
– Ahkam, son of Nisar Ahmad Khan of Kangan
– Arhan, son of Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan of Kangan
– Imad, son of Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan of Kangan
– Usman, son of Nisar Ahmad Khan of Kangan
The injured were first taken to SDH Bijbehara and then transferred to GMC Anantnag for further treatment. The police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
