Neha Dhupia is discussing her experience of getting pregnant before marrying actor Angad Bedi and how her parents reacted. In a recent interview, the actress shared details about their ‘nonlinear marriage’ and how she embraced motherhood shortly after.
Neha Dhupia surprised many when she and actor Angad Bedi got married in a private ceremony at a Gurudwara on May 10, 2018. She shared the news by posting a series of pictures on her Instagram account. Following their marriage, the couple welcomed their daughter, Mehr Dhupia Bedi, in November of the same year. They also have a son named Guriq Singh Dhupia Bedi, who was born in 2021.
During a recent interview, Neha opened up about her experience of becoming pregnant before getting married and how she broke the news to her family. She mentioned, “We had a non-linear wedding. We were already expecting a child before we got married. When we shared the news with my parents, their initial reaction was mixed. However, within 72 hours, they fully embraced the situation and said, ‘Let’s get married.’ So, I had two and a half days to go back to Bombay and tie the knot.”
Neha also revealed that she faced a lot of negative comments regarding her pregnancy. In addition, she expressed, “My choices are not causing harm to anyone, so there’s no harm in doing what you want, pursuing your desires, and look at where it led us.”
On Mother’s Day, the Tumhari Sulu actor took to Instagram to share a series of pictures. She posted photos with her mother and wrote in the caption, “The one thing we all have in common… is that we all have the best ones. Happy Mother’s Day today and every day… love you, ma.”
The actor starred in a short film called “Good Morning” last year, which centered around the challenges faced by a working mother on a daily basis. When speaking to OTTplay, she expressed, “Being a mother of two, I’ve come to understand that achieving a perfect balance between personal and professional life is elusive. While there are goals I strive to achieve, there are also desires and aspirations I wish to share with my family. Although I would prefer to focus on one aspect at a time, it is simply not feasible.”
