Senior National Conference leader and veteran politician Mian Altaf Ahmed Lahrvi has been nominated as the National Conference candidate for the South Kashmir Pir Panjal parliamentary seat.
Vice President of NC Omar Abdullah, in the presence of Mian Altaf Ahmed, announced his candidature on behalf of party president Dr. Farooq Abdullah.
Expressing happiness Omar Abdullah emphasized Mian Altaf Ahmed’s widespread popularity across various segments of society and expressed confidence that he would garner substantial support from the people. Party General Secretary Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar, State Secretary Chowdhary Ramzan, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, and Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq were present during the announcement
The Anantnag constituency, which spreads across the Pir Panjal range and includes Rajouri and Poonch areas after delimitation, will go to polls on May 7 in the third phase.
