Ladakh Ski and Snowboard Association who recently received the prestigious Award from the Hon’ble President of India conducted the Selection Trials for the winter sports enthusiasts of Ladakh for Khelo India, Winter Games 2023.
To represent UT Ladakh in Skiing , Ski Mountaineering and Snowshoe, more than 100 participants from all over Ladakh participated in the different categories of winter games.
The selected players will now represent UT Ladakh in National Ski Championship at Gulmarg Khelo Winter Games 2023 which is starting from 10 February to 14 February, 2023.
Speaking with Gulistan News, Syed Samsuddin, official deputed by Youth Services and Sports told that the Department is monitoring the overall selection process to ensure a free and fair process. He appreciated the efforts made by the Associations for conducting such trials with limited resources. The Sports Department, Ladakh under the directions of Secretary Sports, Shri. Ravinder Kumar is promoting snow related games in Kargil, Drass and Zanskar areas of Ladakh as these places have huge potential in the coming years.
Senior Ski Coach Sadiq Ali, thanked DYSSO, Kargil Shri Abid Ali and Chief Medical Office Dr Munawar Hussain and Syed Toha, Tourism Department for their support to conduct the selection trial.
