Residents of various neighborhoods in central Kashmir’s Budgam district have raised concerns about the quality of drinking water in the area.

The locals have urged the authorities of the Jal Shakti Department to address the issue. Locals from Narkura, Ompora, Laloo, Gangbug, and nearby areas have voiced their distress over the unsafe water supply, which they claim is causing waterborne diseases.

They said despite their efforts to communicate with officials from the Jal Shakti Department, the problem remains unresolved, severely impacting the health of both the elderly people and children.

The situation is particularly dire during the holy month of Ramadhan, as contaminated water disrupts daily life and poses risks to public health,” a local said. The residents appealed to the authorities to look into the issue and ensure timely resolution.
