The district level Committee meeting under Narco Coordination centre (NCORD) was held today under the chairmanship of District Magistrate, Udhampur, Krittika Jyotsna at Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur
Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr Vinod Kumar; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan; District Social Welfare Officer, Kanika Gupta and other officers attended the meeting.
During the meeting, it was informed by the Senior Superintendent of Police Udhampur that 97 NDPS Act cases have been registered during the Year 2022 till Dec 31, 2022.
The DC stressed upon strengthening of nakas to keep strict vigil on any attempt of drug trafficking. The DC advised to ensure that Investigations under NDPS Act are conducted in a most professional manner so that the culprits do not go scout free. She further asked to track the persons caught in drug addiction in the district and share details for thier de-addiction and rehabilitation.
The CMO informed that a 5 bedded De-addiction centre is functional in the District Hospital. The DC directed CMO to publicize the helpline number 14416 to draw the attention of those in need of help.
The ACD was asked to furnish the list of Nasha Mukt Panchayats in the District. DC stressed upon vigorous tracking of the cases of drug abuse & directed the stakeholders to furnish the data about traffickers and those who are affected by Drug Menace, to the District Administration.
Tehsildar Udhampur informed that the Revenue papers of State land measuring 04 Kanal identified at Village Jhakhar for District level drug de-addiction and rehabilitation centre has been submitted. In this regard, the ACR was directed to process the case for allotment.
Principals of Colleges and Chief Education officer Udhampur were directed to designate Nodal officers of each educational institution for organizing awareness activities under Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign. The Chief Education officer informed that Nodal officers have been nominated in all the education institutions. Necessary directions were issued to all establishments for submitting the list of all such Nodal officers. The DC directed the concerned to ensure 100% installation of CCTV cameras and computerized billing in all the establishments in the district.
