As part of ‘My Town My Pride’ (MTMP) programme, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today convened a joint meeting of the ULB members and officers to discuss the issues confronting the Urban Local Bodies.
President MC Shopian, Subash Koul; Joint Director Planning, Khursheed Ahmad Khatana, besides Councilors and district officers attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Vaishya said that the UT Government is committed to providing all basic facilities at the doorsteps of the general public and best possible measures are being taken in this regard.
Highlighting the objective of the ‘My Town My Pride program’, the DC said that the program aims to deliver public services at doorsteps, build developmental initiatives on the feedback, cooperation and participation from people and strengthen strong and vibrant local self-governance.
He added that the program runs on three main objectives like inclining public outreach in towns, strengthening grassroots democracy and service delivery at doorsteps.
The DC laid emphasised officers for maintaining close coordination with the public representatives so that public issues are addressed timely. He asked them to ensure synergized efforts for cent percent saturation of all government schemes and effective delivery of varied online services of the government on ground.
Vaishya instructed the concerned to display the benefits of schemes through hoardings and electronic platforms.
