A mudslide near Dalwas in the Ramban district has led to the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, the crucial all-weather route linking Kashmir with the rest of the country. Due to this, traffic from both directions has been halted. Restoration work is currently underway, and officials expect traffic to resume soon.
The region has been experiencing heavy rainfall, with cloudbursts reported in several areas, further complicating travel and transportation.
