Srinagar, Mar 05 : A Horticulture Officer has been arrested for allegedly attempting to rape his female colleague.

The accused, identified as Shakeel-ur-Rehman, posted as Horticulture Officer in Pattan, was booked following a complaint filed by the victim, a resident of Bemina Srinagar.

According to official sources, the complaint was lodged through an e-FIR on February 28, and the complainant, who works in the same department, has also accused him of sexual harassment.

Acting on the complaint, the police launched an investigation and subsequently arrested the accused.

A senior police official while talking to News Agency Confirmed the arrest and stated that a case has been registered, and further investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, Police have assured that the matter will be dealt with as per the law, ensuring justice for the victim.
