Mission Majnu Movie Review: This is no Shershaah, but Sidharth, Rashmika’s mission to entertain is a success

India vs Pakistan makes a great setting not just for one-day cricket matches , but also for films chronicling historical chapters from the two countries. India and Pakistan have always been at odds, so a story around their tussle makes for an intriguing watch. If you throw in a nuclear test and words like ‘atom-bomb’, the setting gets even more exciting. Shantanu Bagchi’s Mission Majnu has an interesting premise. The film revolves around a RAW agent infiltrating Pakistan to find out its nefarious designs to build an atom bomb. After India’s first successful nuclear test in 1974, a worried Pakistan decides to carry out its own test with the help of shady allies willing to sell them material to build its own bomb.

Tariq aka Amandeep Singh (Sidharth Malhotra) is a RAW agent living in Pakistan. He’s married to his girlfriend Nasreen (Rashmika Mandanna) who is blind. Tariq has a murky past across the border where his father was labelled a traitor in his motherland – India. Living under the guilt of what his father did, Tariq’s life changes when he’s assigned to head India’s covert operation in Pakistan titled – Mission Majnu.
