Meteorological Department on Saturday predicted light to moderate rains and snow on higher reaches at many places with possibility of heavy rain, thunder, lightening, hailstorm and gusty winds at isolated places of Jammu and Kashmir on April 13 and 14.
An official of Meteorological Department Srinagar said that on April 13 and 14 the weather is expected to remain cloudy with light to moderate rain and snow at higher reaches at many places with possibility of heavy rain, thunder, lightening, hailstorm and gusty winds at isolated places of Jammu and Kashmir.
On April 15 to 16, there is forecast of party to generally cloudy with light rain and snow on higher reaches at many places during 15th evening to 16th morning.
The official said that on April 17 to 18, the weather is generally expected to remain dry with late thundershower activity at few places. Also on April 19 to 20 there will be partly cloudy with light rain, snow at many places during 19th evening to 20th morning.
The official added that from April 21 to 23 there will be generally dry weather with thundershowers activity which can’t be ruled out.
Keeping the weather forecast on account, the MeT official advised farmers to suspend farm operations till April 16. He also said the upcoming weather transition may disrupt surface transportation temporarily over few higher reaches during April 13 and 14.
“Travelers and tourists are advised to plan accordingly. Also temporary water logging may occur in few low-lying areas. Besides there is a possibility of landslides, mudslides and shooting stones on few higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir,” the official added.
