Members of Haj Committee, call on LG Mathur

A delegation from UT Ladakh Haj Committee comprising Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal (through video conferencing); BJP State President, Phuntsog Stanzin; Chairperson, UT Ladakh Haj Committee, Mohd. Ali Majaz and Councillor, Chuchot, Mirza Hussain, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas today.

Chairperson, UT Ladakh Haj Committee, Mohd Ali Majaz, thanked the Administration for setting up the Haj Committee in Ladakh. He informed about the efforts to provide the best possible facilities for the Haj pilgrims this year. He also informed the need to set up the Haj Committee Office at the earliest.

Majaz emphasised the need for establishing a Haj House in Kargil and engaging ulema to guide the Haj pilgrims. Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, requested for intervention in setting up a Passport Seva Kendra in Kargil.

LG Mathur congratulated the newly appointed members of the Haj Committee. He advised that the members of the Haj Committee may visit Srinagar and Mumbai to understand the functioning of the Haj Committee, get capacity-building trainings and prepare a list of facilities needed to serve the needs of the Haj pilgrims. He assured that the Administration would provide requisite support to the Haj Committee.
