Peoples Democratic Party Chief Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday (April 25) during her road show in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district exhorted the local people to vote for her party and asserted that she has come to be the voice of the voiceless people.
Standing in her car and holding a mike, Mehbooba Mufti appealed to the people, “I want to request to you all that Jammu and Kashmir is in difficult time. It is not necessary to tell as there is fear in everyone that do not know what will happen if someone say something. That is why I have come here to be voice of the voiceless people”.
Recalling December 2023, Topi Peer incident in which 5 Jawans lost their lives in Pak backed terror attack and 3 men allegedly died in army custody in the village after the security personnel detained 15 villagers for interrogation, “Mehbooba said,” We know what happened in Topi Peer where no one can go recently and no body could talk about.
Talking about the detained persons after Shahdhara Sharief Target killing on Monday, she said, “So many people have been detained for questioning after the Rajouri terror attack. After 2019, this is very tough milieu in Jammu and Kashmir as efforts are being done to eradicated our identity”.
Hitting at the anti-encroachment drive started last year in Jammu and Kashmir to retrieve government land from land grabbers and use it for for public use, Mehbooba said, “Efforts are being made to drive away us from our lands and forests. We are being asked to show our land records. We are getting electricity produced by us at higher rates and there are many areas in the whole country, where electricity is being provided free of cost to people”.
