Gulistan News | May 9, 2025:
In a major security development, Pakistan attempted a large-scale drone infiltration across the Line of Control and International Border during the night of May 8–9. Intelligence and defense sources confirmed that over 300 drones were launched simultaneously, targeting 36 strategic locations—ranging from Leh to Sir Creek.
Among the key threats was an armed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) aimed at the Bathinda military station in Punjab. The Indian Army intercepted and neutralized it before it could inflict any damage.
The Indian Armed Forces responded using a combination of kinetic strikes, including anti-air systems, and non-kinetic countermeasures such as electronic warfare techniques. Officials report that most drones were successfully destroyed mid-air, averting what could have been a significant national security breach.
This coordinated drone assault—believed to be the largest in recent times—comes just weeks after the Pahalgam terror attack, raising serious concerns about Pakistan’s increasing use of drone warfare.
According to defense experts, India’s S-400 air defense system and advanced radar grid played a crucial role in detecting and neutralizing the threat. High-level meetings are reportedly underway in New Delhi to review border security and prepare for any further escalation.
The situation remains tense along the western front, with Indian forces maintaining heightened surveillance and readiness.
