On Thursday, the mountains surrounding the Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand were struck by a massive avalanche. As per reports, there have been no reported casualties or damage resulting from this incident.
A video clip shared by the news agency PTI shows snow cascading down the mountains, with onlookers, including pilgrims and visitors in front of the temple, observing the snowslide as it occurred.
A similar snow avalanche occurred in the state on June 4, affecting a group of pilgrims heading towards Hemkund Sahib. Five individuals were rescued by the State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF), while the rescue operation, resumed on June 5, also resulted in the recovery of one pilgrim’s body.
