Tihar Jail after 17 months, shared a heartfelt post featuring a morning selfie with his wife, holding a cup of tea. Expressing his relief, Sisodia captioned the post, “First morning tea of freedom… after 17 months.”
Sisodia was granted bail by the Supreme Court, which cited his prolonged incarceration without trial as a violation of his right to speedy justice. Following his release, he visited Arvind Kejriwal’s residence, where an emotional reunion took place with the Chief Minister’s family. Sisodia expressed gratitude for the support and emphasized the significance of the legal victory.
Sisodia had been arrested by the CBI on February 26, 2023, in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case and was later detained by the Enforcement Directorate on related money laundering charges. He resigned from the Delhi cabinet on February 28, 2023.
