Ranjit Kumar s/o Chunni Lal (45), a lineman, was found dead under mysterious circumstances near Sherpur Khad in Hiranagar Tehsil of Kathua district on Sunday morning.
As per report, the deceased hailed from Jakhbar village in Kathua district. The victim yesterday evening left his home apprising his family members that he was called to repair a faulty electric line nearby, but didn’t returned back home. Later, when his phone appeared switched his worried family members started a search for him but got no success.
Later, when his stressed family members and locals registered a missing complaint at Nagri police station in Kathua. The police then recovered the victim’s body and his bike mysteriously this morning from a pond nearby the bridge on Sherpur-Kathua road.
The police took possession of man’s body and sent it for autopsy while a probe was initiated to look into this matter.
