One person died while several others reportedly got unconscious due to asphyxiation in Dachan area of Gool sub-division in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
The unconscious persons have been shifted to SDH Gool and DH Ramban.
A police official said the incident took place at a marriage function in the Deeda area of Gool, apparently due to a generator.
He said that all the five unconscious persons were immediately rushed to SDH Gool, where one of them was declared dead on arrival, while others were shifted to DH Ramban.
Police identified the deceased as Mohammad Tariq (18) son of Mohammad Abdullah Hajam resident of Deeda Gool.
A case in this connection has been registered at Police Station Gool and further investigations taken up.
