Major Bovine smuggling attempts foiled, 105 Bovines Rescued: Udhampur Police

Udhampur Police rescued 105 Bovines and seized 05 vehicles used for bovine smuggling on Sunday.

Team of Police Post Tikri led by PSI Sahil Chib IC PP Tikri foiled three bovine smuggling bids in which 70 bovines were rescued from three different vehicles bearing registration number JK03N 4165, JK05L3972 and JK03C 9318 from routine nakapoint Tikri, NHW. 03 bovine smugglers namely Zaber Mir S/O Abdul Majid Mir R/O Mir Bazar, Anantnag, Jamsheed Ahmed S/O Mohd. Ashma Dar R/O Baramulla and Mohd. Younis Shah S/O Ghulam Ali Shah R/O Banihal got arrested. In this regard, In this regrds 03 cases FIR No. 113/2024, 114/2024 and 115/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Rehambal.

 

Another bovine smuggling attempt foiled in which police team of Police Station Rehambal led by Insp. Nishad Ahmed SHO PS Rehambal rescued 35 more bovines from two vehicles bearing registration number JK03F 2475 and JK03D 9898 at naka point Rehambal. The driver of both the vehicles disclosed their identities as Jignu S/O Mohd. Iqbal R/O Banihal and Ghafoor Ahmed S/O Manzoor Ahmed R/O Chanderkot, Ramban got arrested on spot. All the bovines were rescued and both vehicles seized.

 

In this connection, two more cases FIR No. 116/2024 and 117/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered in PS Rehambal and further investigation of both the cases are underway.
