A major train accident was narrowly averted early Sunday when an LPG cylinder was discovered on the railway tracks near Perambur Railway Station in Kanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. The cylinder was spotted just in time by the loco pilot of an approaching goods train, allowing for an emergency brake application.
This incident marks the fourth such attempt to derail trains in September alone. Previously, on September 8, the Kalindi Express, traveling from Prayagraj to Bhiwani, collided with an LPG cylinder placed on the tracks, prompting the train to halt. During that incident, the loco pilot also found other suspicious items, including a petrol bottle and matchboxes. Authorities are investigating these incidents to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for these dangerous acts.
