The traditional Jhanki of Bhairo procession was taken out in Jawahar Nagar area of Rajouri on Sunday afternoon as a part of Holi festival celebrations.
As a part of seven-day long Holi celebrations, the people of Jawahar Nagar and Rajouri town, adjoining areas including youth and children took part with fervour and expressed joy in the rally.
The locals believe the Bhairo’s pat as blessings if they receive from him during the procession.
The person who becomes Bhairo dances on the beats of drum all covered in black colour with an iron stick and also gets intoxicated to unite with the higher self of lord Bhairo.
The locals take out this annual procession believing that it keeps away draught like conditions in the region.
