Locals of Rathsun village in Beerwaa, located in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, staged a protest today against the Public Health Engineering Department over the failure to ensure a consistent supply of drinking water.
The protest, primarily led by men, sat on the road and demanded immediate intervention from authorities to address the vital issue.
One of the protesters told that they have been deprived of safe drinking water, especially during crucial times. “The burden falls disproportionately on women, who have to trek long distances to fetch water for their daily needs.”
The locals called on the administration to prioritize the issue, as the lack of clean drinking water poses significant challenges to their daily lives and well-being.
