Presenting the interim budget in Parliament the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman claimed that Indian economy is doing well and inflation is moderate.
“The economy is doing well. People are doing better and living better,” Finance Minister said in her speech.

“Goods and Services Tax (GST) has enabled one nation, one market, one tax. Tax reforms have led to deepening and widening of tax base. Strengthening of the financial sector has helped in making savings, credit and investments more efficient”, she said while discussing GST.
“Our government will launch a scheme to help deserving sections of the middle class living in rented houses or slums or chawls and unathorised colonies to buy or build their own houses,” added the FM. “Our government is working towards development which is all-around, all-inclusive, and all-pervasive. It covers all castes and people at all levels. We are working towards making India a Viksit Bharat by 2047”. she opined.
