Leh, January 22, 2025 (Gulistan News Tv) : Kargil witnessed an inspiring gathering of literary minds as the Ladakh Writers Club held an interim meeting at Rego Cafe TFC Kargil. Writers from across Kargil participated in the event, which was organized and curated by Dr. Sonam Wangchok. The meeting aimed to discuss the Club’s objectives and expand its reach in the region.

Dr. Wangchok briefed attendees on the mission and vision of the Ladakh Writers Club. This initiative is expected to be a landmark project for preserving and celebrating the literary heritage of Ladakh.

During the meeting, the objectives adopted were revisited and reaffirmed with Promoting Literature, Supporting Young Writers, Networking with Publishers, Promoting Writing, Organizing Events, Recognizing Contributions and Advocacy for Writers.
The meeting saw active participation and discussions, with all attendees expressing their appreciation for the Club’s vision and supporting its objectives. The writers recognized the potential of the Club to foster a vibrant literary culture in the region.

A significant outcome of the meeting was the unanimous decision to appoint Arif Hussain Ladakhi as the Convener of the Kargil Chapter of the Ladakh Writers Club. His leadership is expected to strengthen the Club’s presence and activities in Kargil.
