IPL 2023:  Rajasthan Royals Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara delivered an inspiring dressing room speech after RR were bowled out for 59 in a deflating 112-run loss at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore in an IPL 2023 match in Jaipur. Sangakkara urged his team to concentrate on their next IPL 2023 match against the Punjab Kings.

Sangakkara believes that instead of blaming individual players for the team’s lackluster performance in their final home game, the team should look ahead. RR conceded 171 runs in their 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Chasing 172 to win, the Royals lost wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 59 runs. It was the lowest team total in IPL history by any IPL franchise on their home ground. Kumar Sangakkara addressed the locker room following the game, as seen in a video released by RR:

“We’ve got one more game to play. No amount of speaking and telling and doing all of that will resolve any of the issues that we have, something that we’ve got to step up and do. Right? Irrespective of what happens in other games, we have one more game to play and win. So, that’s all I want you [to] think about. Learn from this. Just move on. All right? I can see the hurt and disappointment,” Sangakkara said.

IPL 2023: The Rajasthan Royals will soon board a flight to Dharamsala for their 14th and final league stage match against the Punjab Kings in IPL 2023. The game is scheduled for May 19. Kumar Sangakkara ended his team meeting by asking his players to concentrate on the next game.

“All right boys, no individual names today. Know a lot of you guys tried hard and did well. But let’s get together for one more game when we get to Dharamsala,” concluded Sangakkara.
