Srinagar, Jan 16  (Gulistan News Tv): In a swift and successful operation, Kulgam police have recovered a stolen vehicle and apprehended an accused individual involved in the commission of crime.

On 09.01.2025, police station Qazigund received a written application for assistance from Azam Khan son of Mohd Ismail Khan resident of Ramban A/P Nawa stating therein that his vehicle bearing registration number-(JK13A-4716) parked near Jamia masjid Nawa was stolen by unknown person. Promptly a case under FIR No. 08/2025 U/S 303(b) BNS at Police Station Qazigund was registered and an intensive investigation was initiated.

The investigation team led by SHO police station Qazigund with strenuous efforts and by using all available means tracked down the stolen vehicle at Wullarhama Pahalgam, and was recovered subsequently. During the operation, the Police apprehended the accused, identified as Shahid Ahmad Bhat son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat resident of Wullarhama Pahalgam. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether additional individuals were involved in the theft.

Kulgam Police have reaffirmed their commitment to combating vehicle theft and ensuring the safety of residents.
