Kotak Mahindra Bank acknowledges ‘intermittent issues’ with its systems as users face issues with app, net banking

Private lender Kotak Mahindra Bank on Saturday acknowledged that it has had intermittent issues with some of the systems today after several users complained of facing issues with lender’s app and net banking since morning.

Taking to microblogging site Twitter, a number of bank customers said that they have been facing issues with withdrawing cash using the Kotak Mahindra Bank ATM cards, making UPI transactions and also in checking their bank balance both via the phone banking app and net banking.

Taking note of the grievances, the private lender said, “We have had intermittent issues with some of our systems today. We regret the inconvenience to our customers.”

Responding to the bank’s tweet, a Twitter user said, “You didn’t have intermittent issues, you had huge whole day issues and all you come up with is an apology at the end of the. This just sucks, an SMS update would have been helpful. You can send a 1000 marketing SMSs for loans, credit cards, demat account but can’t for an outage!”

The Kotak Mahindra Bank application is still not working. Transactions are not happening, also I couldn’t even withdraw cash from the ATM. How much time it will take, a user asked, to which the lender replied, “Hi! We acknowledge that there is a technical issue and our team is working continuously to fix this. Rest assured all efforts are being exerted to fix this issue as quickly as possible. Thank you ^Team Kotak.”

The problem apparently persists from last night as a user pointed out on the social media platform. He posted a screenshot suggesting that the “Mobile Banking Application is being updated for enhancing user experience.” “Why is this upgrade being done in the day. Why no prior notice was given to the user. Not just mobile banking, even netbanking is down since last night. Seems like a coverup, kotak unable to rectify the fault. Need an urgent money transfer,” the user asked.

Meanwhile, a user said that opening an account with the bank could help people save money. “The best way to save money is by opening a @KotakBankLtd account because when the ATM, POS and UPI transactions don’t work for a full day, you can’t spend any money. Thanks Kotak,” the user tweeted
