KISHTWAR, July 8: Kishtwar-Paddar road was recently damaged due to a massive landslide at Nagseni which halted vehicular movement impacting essential supplies to the Paddar Sub Division.
The alternative road from Himachal side remained through for essential supplies but few days back the Singhrah Bridge-GREF was washed off by a flash flood causing a disruption of road connectivity at the Sohal area affecting supply.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today personally trekked to the landslide spot at Nagseni to reach Paddar side to oversee the repair of Singhrah Bridge by GREF authorities in the presence of SDM Paddar, Amit Kumar; Tehsildar Atholi, Manjeet Kumar, DDC Paddar, Arpan Singh Rana and other officials.
The road connectivity from Himachal to Paddar area has now been restored following the repair of Singhrah Bridge at Sohal Paddar and essential items loaded in light vehicles have resumed the supply chain to Paddar from Himachal.
On Kishtwar-Paddar Road, DC Kishtwar informed that additional excavators have been mobilized from hydroelectric projects to clear the road at Nagseni on a war footing.
“The repair work at Nagseni is expected to take 2-3 days more, with the efforts of GREF and hydroelectric power projects’ personnel under the district administration’s supervision,” he maintained adding that the supply chain of essential items for the public will not be affected as these are ensured from Himachal side.
The DC also said that vehicular movement will remain affected until the road is fully restored and the general public is requested to cooperate until the completion of the repair works.
