King Salman’s invitation to the Iranian president for a visit

Saudi King Salman has invited Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to visit Saudi Arabia, which he accepted.

According to the report of a foreign news agency, Mohammad Jamshidi, the deputy chief of staff for political affairs of the Iranian president, tweeted that the Saudi ruler has invited the Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi to Riyadh. He said that the Saudi ruler wrote a letter to the Iranian president and welcomed the restoration of relations between the two countries.

Mohammad Jamshidi said that “King Salman stressed on Iran-Saudi strong economic and regional cooperation”. Iranian President Raisi has welcomed the Saudi ruler’s invitation and expressed determination to increase cooperation with Saudi Arabia.

On the other hand, no such letter has been confirmed by Saudi Arabia

It should be noted that Iran and Saudi Arabia had announced to restore bilateral diplomatic relations on March 10. Diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran were severed since 2016, but this month, China played the role of an important mediator in the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
