Khattar disputes oppn’s unemployment figures, claims 1.1L recruitments done
Disputing the opposition’s unemployment figures and the method of its private source, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar laid out the official recruitment figures in yesterday’s Vidhan Sabha’s winter session while describing how his government was creating jobs, transparent systems, and a robust educational framework.
He said during a house discussion that there had been merit-based recruitment to fill 11,500 posts of groups A and B along with 1.06 lakh posts of groups C and D.
He said: “We advertised another 3,200 posts of groups A and B along and will now advertise 61,000 posts of groups C and D. Our government will, thus, recruit 1.67 lakh people, while in 10 years of the Congress tenure, they had hired only 8,700 people via the HPSC (Haryana Public Service Commission) and 93,000 via the HSSC (Haryana Staff Selection Commission).”
The opposition had raised the issue of unemployment and how recruitment had been cancelled or put on hold due to court cases and the HKRN (Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam) fiasco. The CM accused the opposition of spreading misinformation about the HKRN that had been formed to end the system of contractual jobs. He claimed that the platform had helped port more than 1.05 lakh old workers and hire another 12,885.
Challenging the opposition’s unemployment figures, he pointed to the inconsistency of its source, the CMIE (Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy), which is a private think tank and business information company.
On goal of achieving a zero dropout rate, he said the school education department will track the 6-to-18 age group and collect data on the children that go to gurukuls or madrasas, which are Hindu and Islamic schools. About the charges of malpractices in the HPSC’s recruitment process, the CM took a solemn oath on sacred scripture Shrimad Bhagavadgita that there was transparency and integrity in the administrative procedures.
The CM denied that HPSC recruitment was based on ‘kharchi parchi’ (recommendation and bribe).
