Kharge and Sonia Gandhi to address Day 2 of Congress 85th plenary session”.

The second day of the 85th plenary session of the Indian National Congress will see senior Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi addressing the party members. The session will also feature discussions on several key issues such as the current political situation in the country, the economic crisis, the state of the Congress party and its future course of action. The session is being held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the second day of the Congress party’s 85th plenary session, key leaders including Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge are set to address the gathering of around 15,000 delegates. The previous day saw the Congress steering committee unanimously decide against holding elections to the Congress Working Committee, instead authorizing the party chief to nominate its members.

The decision was taken at the Kharge-led steering committee meeting which members of the Gandhi family skipped.

> On the first of the session, the party’s subjects committee held its first meeting in the evening in which Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were also present. The meeting saw deliberations on the six resolutions to be adopted at the session.
