Kathua Police release sketches of four terrorists, announces reward for information
Kathua Police on Saturday released sketches of four terrorists who have been reportedly seen in the several parts of the district.
A police spokesperson said that they are offering a cash reward of rupees 5 lakh on each terrorist for an actionable information. He said terrorists whose sketches have been made public were last seen in dhoks of Malhar, Bani and Seojdhar.
“Anyone with credible information of terrorists will also be suitably rewarded,” he said and added the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
Notably four army soldiers were killed and six others injured in a terrorist attack in Badnota area of Kathua on July 8 this year.
Besides parts of Jammu region have also witnessed surge in terror attacks in last three months, which left several security personnel dead and injured.
Keeping the sensitivity of the situation into account, top officials from the Border Security Force (BSF), intelligence agencies, and the Police forces of J&K and Punjab convened a crucial meeting on July 11 this year to discuss and develop cutting-edge strategies for border management.
The high-level meeting which had held at District Police Lines (DPL) Kathua focused on innovative solutions to address the evolving challenges of border security, aiming to strengthen collaboration and effectiveness in safeguarding the region.
Since the rise in terror incidents in Jammu parts have been reported, J&K Police, Army, CRPF and other agencies have been put on alert and search operations have been intensified.
