Jyotika Wraps Up Filming for ‘Sri’ and Applauds Co-star Rajkummar Rao, Showcasing Her Remarkable Growth as an Actor

After a gap of two decades, actress Jyotika is preparing to make her comeback to Bollywood. She will star alongside Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan in an upcoming supernatural thriller that is currently untitled. The film, directed by Vikas Bahl, is scheduled to commence shooting in June of this year.

Jyotika’s previous Hindi film was “Little John” in 2001, directed by Singeetham Srinivasa Rao. The movie had a simultaneous release in Hindi, Tamil, and English.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter on Monday and shared a photo of Jyotika, announcing her involvement in the project. He mentioned that Jyotika will be joining Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan in a supernatural thriller produced by Panorama Studios and directed by Vikas Bahl. The film, which is yet to be titled, is scheduled to begin filming in June 2023. Ajay Devgn, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak are the producers of the movie.

According to a press release, the upcoming film will have extensive shooting schedules in Mumbai, Mussoorie, and London. The production will be handled by Ajay Devgn, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under the banners of Ajay Devgn Films and Panorama Studios. It’s noteworthy that Jyotika recently filmed for the biographical drama “Sri,” which revolves around the story of visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla. There are reports suggesting that Jyotika will make a special appearance in the film.

Jyotika recently took to Instagram to announce the completion of her filming for the movie “Sri” and expressed her admiration for her co-star Rajkummar Rao. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani, “Sri” features Rajkummar in the lead role.

In her Instagram post, Jyotika shared her heartfelt sentiments about working with the exceptional crew and how the experience has contributed to her growth as an actor. She expressed gratitude to Tushar and Nidhi for their respect and for involving her in such a meaningful cinematic project. Jyotika also expressed her admiration for Rajkummar Rao, considering it an honor to share screen space with him and learn from his brilliance. She emphasized that the valuable takeaway from working with this team is personal and professional growth.

Apart from “Sri,” Jyotika has recently completed work on her upcoming Malayalam film “Kaathal,” directed by Jeo Baby, known for his work in the acclaimed movie “The Great Indian Kitchen.” This film marks her first collaboration with Mammootty. Jyotika was last seen in the Tamil film “Udanpirappe,” which was produced by her husband and actor, Suriya.
