JMC, GMC launch Swachata Campaign to promote cleanliness, hygiene

Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in preview of Swacch Survekshan 2024 today launched Swacchta Champion Program in Government Medical College, Maternity Hospital Gandhi Nagar, in association with the management of the Hospital.
MLA Bahu Vikram Randhawa graced the event as chief guest, who formally launched Swacchta Champion Programme along with Commissioner JMC, Dr. Devansh Yadav. An awareness rally regarding swachata was also organized which was flagged off by the Chief Guest MLA Bahu Vikram Randhawa in presence of Commissioner JMC.
After the culmination of the rally, the chief guest inspected the stalls displayed by various NGOs demonstrating the waste to wonder technique. He appreciated the entrepreneurs involved in the recycling of waste to wonder products.
Sustainable kits were also distributed among the participants at the event. Five Safaisathies were presented certification for their marvellous work in the cleanliness of the city.
Cultural activities related to swacchhta were performed by the renowned local artists, including songs by Sonali Dogra (Dogri Singer), Live Band by Shomanilini, Nukkad Natak by Students of Nursing College, Skit performance by Akash & Vivek Sangotra.
The MLA Bahu appreciated the services provided by Jammu Municipal Corporation for the citizen of Jammu and appealed Jammuities to cooperate with the Corporation. He encouraged the Sanitation staff to spread more awareness among the common masses for not throwing the garbage in open and water bodies. Appealing people to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in their surroundings, he encouraged residents to utilize dedicated vehicles for door to door collection saying that it would go a long way in contributing to the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Commissioner, JMC along with other officers felicitated MLA Bahu Vikram Randhawa. The Commissioner JMC, in his address, explained the core objectives of Swachh Survekshan & encouraged the public to cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation to make Jammu Cleaner & Greener.
He said community involvement would consequently improve Jammu city’s ranking in upcoming Swachh Sarvekshan.
