Senior BJP leader and spokesperson Dr. Tahir Choudhary on Friday said that Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a remarkable transformation under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with significant progress in employment, economic stability, and self-reliance.
Dr. Tahir lauded the government’s commitment to development, stating that the policies implemented over the last few years have laid the foundation for a stronger and more prosperous J&K.
He credited the Modi-government for bringing employment opportunities, boosting industrial growth, and creating a thriving ecosystem for self-employment, which has empowered thousands of youths in the region.
Dr. Choudhary highlighted the decline in the unemployment rate to 6.1% in 2023-24 from 6.7% in 2019-20, emphasizing that the Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) has risen to 64.3%, while the Worker Population Ratio (WPR) has increased to 60.4%. This progress reflects the dynamic economic activities and the increased job opportunities generated through policy-driven initiatives.
BJP’s spokesperson pointed out that the Modi government has prioritized skill development and entrepreneurship, leading to the establishment of 40,778 self-employment units, providing jobs to approximately 1.16 lakh young men and women.
Additionally, the government’s focus on social security has ensured that 35.28 lakh unorganized workers have been registered on the e-SHRAM portal as of November 2024, further securing the rights and welfare of workers.
While celebrating these achievements, Dr. Choudhary launched a scathing attack on the opposition parties, holding the National Conference (NC), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Congress responsible for years of misgovernance, corruption, and economic stagnation in J&K.
Dr Tahir accused these parties of misleading the people with false promises while doing nothing to address unemployment, industrial decline, and infrastructural backwardness.
He stated that for decades, these parties thrived on dynastic politics and appeasement, leaving the youth of J&K with no prospects for a better future.
Dr. Choudhary asserted that under NC, PDP, and Congress, J&K was deprived of the growth and development it deserved, as their focus remained on personal political gains rather than the welfare of the people.
He reiterated that the people of J&K have rejected the politics of deceit and embraced the transformative vision of Prime Minister Modi.
