The benefits of recent changes in Jammu and Kashmir are finally reaching the youth of the region, according to the External Affairs Minister of India, S. Jaishankar, who made the statement after inaugurating the first International Education fair of Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar.
Speaking at the event on Monday, Jaishankar highlighted the government’s efforts to bring about development and progress in Jammu and Kashmir since the revocation of Article 370 in August 2019. He said that the changes made have started to make a difference, especially for the younger generation.
“The changes made in Jammu and Kashmir were aimed at bringing about greater integration and development of the region. We have been working tirelessly to ensure that the benefits of these changes reach the people, especially the youth,” Jaishankar said.
The External Affairs Minister pointed out that the government has taken several steps to improve infrastructure, create job opportunities, and promote education in the region. He cited the establishment of new educational institutions, the creation of new industrial estates, and the allocation of funds for the construction of new roads and bridges as examples of the government’s efforts.
The International Education fair of Jammu and Kashmir is being organized by the Union Territory Administration and aims to provide a platform for students to explore education opportunities in India and abroad. The event is expected to attract students and parents from across the region.
In his address at the fair, Jaishankar emphasized the importance of education in the development of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that education is a key driver of growth and development and can play a critical role in empowering the youth of the region.
“The government is committed to promoting education in Jammu and Kashmir and providing opportunities for the youth to realize their full potential. We believe that education is the key to unlocking the region’s potential and ensuring its prosperity,” Jaishankar said.
The External Affairs Minister’s comments come amid criticism from some quarters that the changes made in Jammu and Kashmir have been ineffective and have failed to bring about the desired results. However, Jaishankar’s statement suggests that the government is committed to continuing its efforts to ensure that the benefits of the changes reach all sections of the population.
The revocation of Article 370 in August 2019 abolished the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the state into two Union Territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The move was hailed by the government as a historic step towards greater integration and development of the region.
Since then, the government has announced a series of measures to promote development and progress in the region. These measures have included the creation of new jobs, the establishment of new educational institutions, and the allocation of funds for the construction of new roads and bridges.
Overall, Jaishankar’s statement suggests that the government is optimistic about the progress being made in Jammu and Kashmir and is committed to continuing its efforts to ensure that the benefits of the changes reach all sections of the population, especially the youth.
