J&K Waqf Board to replace Firewood by LPG Cooking facility for Zaireen at Baba Reshi. New Langar Khana to be urgently constructed

In a major relief to the devotees, Chairperson Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, has issued instructions for immediate replacement of Firewood by LPG for cooking purposes at Ziyarat Shareef Hazrat Baba Payam-ud-din Reshi(RA), Baba Reshi Gulmarg. The directions have been issued after her recent visit to the Shrine, during which it was observed that Firewood cooking is causing lot of inconvenience to the devotees, who prefer to cook at the shrine during their day visit or night stay. Also, the firewood cooking was observed to be untidy, causing lot of inconvenience to the devotees at the shrine, that usually witnesses a large footfall. Instructions have also been issued to replace the existing dilapidated Langar khana with a new Langar Khana as per requirements of LPG Cooking. A communication in this regard has been sent by the Executive Magistrate, Tehsildar J&K Waqf Board, to the Executive Engineer Waqf Board, for immediate submission of plan proposal in this regard.

Further, in line with the reformative agenda of newly constituted J&K Waqf Board under the Chairpersonship of Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, repair/renovations of all residential buildings at the said shrines has already been started, that have faced decades of neglect. Devotees had been complaining regarding shabby conditions of all residential buildings at the said Shrine. Pertinently, a large number of people visit Baba Reshi Shrine located in the vicinity of picturesque meadows of famous Tourist place Gulmarg, & visitors have always been complaining about lack of facilities & shabby condition of buildings at the said shrine.
