“Will be reviewing measures Jal Shakti department intends to tackle situation”
Srinagar, Feb 19: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated that this year Jammu & Kashmir is experiencing a water crisis, and he will be assessing the actions the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department plans to implement to tackle the issue.
In a post on X, previously known as Twitter, Omar Abdullah mentioned that J&K is facing a water crisis this year. “It’s not something new; it has actually been developing for several years now,” he stated.
Omar stressed that the government by itself cannot manage the crisis and that individuals must adopt water conservation practices. “Although the government must implement a more proactive strategy for managing and conserving water, it cannot rely solely on a government-focused approach.” “Every one of us living in J&K must alter how we assume water is always available,” he stated.
He mentioned that he will assess the actions that the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department intends to implement in response to the ongoing crisis and will engage with the residents of J&K in the coming months regarding potential collective solutions.
