J&k Security forces busted a terrorist hideout in Poonch district of Jammu on Friday, police said.

A joint team comprising a special operation group of J&k police and army’s 16 Rashtriya Rifles launched a search operation in Sangla Khoni Naallah area of Surankote and unearthed terrorist hideout, they said.

The arms and ammunition recovered include one 1.51 mortar, three mortar shells, a pistol and five rounds of pistol,” police said. “

The officials said the weapons were found packed in a bag and had gathered rust, suggesting that the hideout was not used by terrorists for years together. The Investigation suggested that it was an old hideout used by terrorists who were active in the area some two decades ago, they said.

All the recoveries have been brought to Surankote police station.
