JK Police Arrests Three ‘Shallu Gang’ Members in Punjab

Jammu and Kashmir police have got a big success by arresting three members of Shallu gang, who were behind the killing of a police sub-inspector Deepak Sharma on April 2 during a shootout in Government Medical College Kathua.

The police have arrested these three gangsters from the neighboring state of Punjab.

Highly placed sources said that after the April 2 shootout the police had vowed to put an end to the menace of gangster-ism and in this regard a team of police was given the task to trace the gangsters hiding in neighboring states of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

 

“After hectic efforts, police has managed to arrest three members of Shallu gang who were behind the killing and bringing back the menace of ganster-ism in Jammu plains. These three gangsters are in police custody and efforts are being made to arrest the leader of the gang,” said a source.

On April 2, a shootout had occurred in GMC Kathua in which one gangster Vasudev was killed whereas a police sub inspector Deepak Sharma laid down his life for the country. After the shootout, a couple of people were arrested but other had managed to give police a slip and left Jammu and Kashmir without getting arrested.
