J&K govt to re-organise EDI Revise salary structure and grant-in-aid norms Srinagar

In a move aimed at restructuring the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), the Jammu & Kashmir government has constituted a sub-committee to undertake a preliminary exercise for facilitating a committee constituted by the Union Territory administration last year for its reorganization.
The government has constituted a sub-committee under the chairmanship of administrative secretary, Department of Industries & Commerce to examine the documents in line of with the terms of reference of restructuring committee constituted on April 21, 2022 for J&K EDI and to undertake a preliminary exercise for facilitating the committee to arrive at decisions and corrective measures in light of special audit, GAD committee report and special audit EDI.
According to an order, a copy of which is in possession of news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the panel comprises Director/ Executive Director EDI, Director Finance, Industries and Commerce Department, and one officer each of Law and ARI & Training departments not below the rank of additional secretary.
As per its terms of reference, the committee shall revisit the vision document 2030, frame a revised salary structure and promotion norms, suggest measures for release of grant-in-aid and examine the audit report for further necessary action.
The EDI was established by the government of Jammu and Kashmir in March 1997 to effectively enable entrepreneurship development in the state. The institute started its regular activities from February 2004.
