Srinagar, 28 January: Today, during the Badalta Jammu and Kashmir Conclave hosted by Gulistan News, J&K Education Minister Sakina Itoo responded to concerns regarding the ReT Teachers Transfer Policy, outlining the government’s approach to resolving the issue.
The policy, which has been under discussion for years, was initially addressed in 2009 during Omar Abdullah’s government through a cabinet decision. Minister Itoo emphasized that the employment of ReT teachers was intended to serve in remote areas where their services were most needed.
However, she reassured that the department is now working on finding middle-ground solutions.
“We are considering two key aspects for transfers: one on medical grounds and the other on marriage grounds. Both factors are being thoroughly examined to ensure a balanced and fair approach,” she stated.
