Jammu, Jan 21(Gulistan News ) : Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President, Tariq Hameed Karra, has strongly rejected reports claiming that the alliance with the National Conference (NC) is on the verge of collapse. Describing these reports as “malicious” and “concocted,” Karra reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to the alliance and the current dispensation.
Karra dismissed the rumors as baseless and asserted that there was no truth behind the claims. “These are just baseless, malicious, concocted, and fabricated rumors. I don’t have much to say about it. This is not something that warrants a response,” Karra remarked.
However, Karra emphasized that Congress’s principal demand remains the restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. He made it clear that Congress would not be part of the cabinet until statehood is restored. “Statehood restoration is our principal stand. We will not join the cabinet unless statehood is restored,” he stated.
The reports, which have been circulating widely on social media, suggest that Congress is contemplating an end to its alliance with NC in Jammu and Kashmir.
