J&K Budget 2023: Center opens box for Jammu and Kashmir, read what is special in this budget

A record budget of Rs 118500 lakh crore has been presented for Jammu and Kashmir. The budget amount has been increased by five and a half thousand crore rupees as compared to the year 2022-23.

The Central Government has opened the box for Jammu and Kashmir. Now development will run at full speed in the state. The Central Government on Monday released a record 118,500 votes for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on the first day of the second phase of the budget session of Parliament. Has presented a budget of lakh crore rupees. The budget amount has been increased by five and a half thousand crore rupees as compared to the year 2022-23.

Last year a budget of Rs 1.13 lakh crore was passed. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman could not present the budget due to the ruckus of the opposition in the Lok Sabha. Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chowdhary presented the budget of the state in the Lok Sabha. However, this could not be discussed. In the budget, special emphasis has been laid on education, health and power sector.According to the budget presented in the Lok Sabha, there is emphasis on good governance, strengthening basic democracy, promotion of sustainable agriculture, investment and industrial development, employment generation, accelerated development, women empowerment, social security. Along with this, a target has also been set to double the GDP in five years. In the budget, a provision of Rs 560.86 crore has been kept in the General Administration Department, which is 6.66 percent more than last year.Rs 10314.22 crore with an increase of 5.63 per cent in Home Department, Rs 122.05 crore with an increase of 1.28 per cent in Information, 59.59 crore with an increase of 71.24 per cent in Parliamentary work, Rs 932.58 crore with an increase of 19.98 per cent in Law 830.54 crore with a cut of 0.98 per cent in revenue, Rs 239.37 crore with an increase of 4.21 per cent in hospitality and protocol and Rs 1009.82 crore with a cut of 1.73 per cent in disaster management, relief and rehabilitation.

Social sector 

12000.18 crore with an increase of 8.92 per cent in education, 236.21 crore with an increase of 2.90 per cent in food, civil supplies and consumer affairs, 6264.75 crore with a decrease of 5.05 per cent in health and medical education, 19.55 per cent increase in social welfare. 3538.72 crore, stationery and printing/labour and employment to 111.13 crore with an increase of 3.50 percent, higher education to 1540.68 crore with an increase of 5.97 percent, 121.91 crore with a reduction of 7.85 per cent in tribal work, Rs 97.38 crore with an increase of 22.51 per cent in culture, Rs 669.48 crore with an increase of 2.73 per cent in youth services and technical education.

Infrastructure Sector (Revenue Expenditure)

 4388.24 crore with a reduction of 0.37 percent for power development, 1327.60 crore with an increase of 10.38 percent in public works, 1297.51 crore with a reduction of 2.45 percent in housing and urban development, with an increase of 3.66 percent in irrigation and flood control. 717.58 crore, Rs 1838.12 crore with a reduction of 5.07 per cent in Public Health Engineering, Rs 13.02 crore with a reduction of 36.92 per cent in Science and Technology.

Economic Sector (Revenue Expenditure) 

78.35 crores in mining, 347.44 crores with a reduction of 19.52 percent in industry and commerce, 1308.00 crores with an increase of 2.63 percent in agricultural production, 669.08 crores with a reduction of 0.97 percent in animal/sheep husbandry, 1.05 percent reduction in tourism. 215 crores with an increase of 1.23 percent in forest, 1568.52 crore, 111.57 crore with an increase of 0.78 percent in fisheries, 748.34 crore with a reduction of 0.30 percent in Rural Development, 107.39 crore with an increase of 2.36 percent in Transport, 161.52 crore with an increase of 3.06 percent in Horticulture, 71.20 crore with a reduction of 59.62 percent in Cooperative.

Financial Sector (Revenue Expenditure) 

134.80 crore with an increase of 1.71 percent in plan development and monitoring, Rs 23256.01 crore has been kept with a reduction of 0.14 percent in finance.
