Srinagar | June 3, 2025 — In a continued crackdown on elements posing a threat to national security, the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Tuesday dismissed three more government employees for their alleged involvement in activities prejudicial to the interests of the State. The action was taken under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution of India, which allows the dismissal of a government employee without departmental inquiry in matters concerning national security.
The orders were issued with the approval of Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, following detailed inputs and dossiers provided by intelligence and security agencies.
According to official sources, the dismissed employees were found to have direct or indirect links with banned terrorist outfits and were allegedly involved in spreading radical ideology, harbouring militants, and facilitating anti-national activities. Names of the dismissed individuals are being withheld pending formal notifications.
With the latest terminations, the total number of government employees sacked on similar grounds has now reached 75 since 2020, when the government began invoking Article 311 to target internal threats from within the administration.
A senior official from the General Administration Department (GAD) confirmed to Gulistan News, “These actions are based on verified inputs from multiple intelligence agencies and reflect the government’s zero tolerance policy towards terrorism and its sympathizers, particularly within the system.”
Past Actions and Broader Context
The terminated employees in earlier cases have included teachers, policemen, engineers, and revenue officials, among others. Several of them were accused of aiding terrorist activities either through logistics, communications, or ideological support.
This policy has been part of a broader effort led by the J&K administration to cleanse the system of elements that threaten peace and stability in the region. It follows the government’s sustained efforts in recent years to tighten oversight, increase vigilance, and ensure accountability in public institutions.
Government Stance
The office of the Lieutenant Governor has reiterated that the administration is committed to rooting out radical elements from government service. “Public servants are expected to uphold the integrity of the Constitution and work in the interest of the nation. Any deviation that compromises national security will be dealt with sternly,” an official statement said.
As security agencies continue to scan the records of government employees with suspected terror links, more such actions are expected in the coming months.
