Joint Director, Information, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho today chaired a meeting-cum-experience sharing session with journalists of Kargil District here at TFC Kargil.
Assistant Director, DIPR Kargil, Padma Angmo, President, Ladakh Press Club (Kargil), Mohammad Hussain Khalo, Copy Editors of All India Radio (Kargil) Mohammad Abdullah and Inayat Ali Shotopa and other members of the Press Club were also present on the occasion.
After the media persons shared their experiences regarding the journey in their respective fields, a detailed discussion was held on various issues being faced by the journalists of Kargil.
While seeking early renewal of media accreditation, Khalo said a slot of morning transmission in All India Radio (AIR), Kargil for cultural programmes in local languages should be included.
The President, Ladakh Press Club (Kargil) also suggested that a Doordarshan Station should be established in Kargil. He further stressed on the formation of a policy for social media. While highlighting the rates of newspaper advertisements in Ladakh, he said that their enhancement be considered at par with other parts of the country.
The Joint Director, Information, Ladakh gave a patient hearing to the requests and proposals and assured early redressal of the issues faced by the media persons.
He also said that in order to improve the skills of journalists of Kargil, the Information Department Kargil plays a supportive role. Notably, the Information Department has organized various workshops in past for the journalists,he added.
The Joint Director also assured that many more workshops and training sessions will be held in the future for which field experts would be invited to impart skills to the media persons.
