A tsunami advisory has been issued for Miyazaki, Kochi, Oita, Kagoshima, and Ehime prefectures. In Miyazaki prefecture on Kyushu, 20-centimeter-high waves had already been observed, reported news agency Reuters while citing NHK.Taking to X, the Japan Meteorological Agency stated, “Tsunamis will strike repeatedly. Please do not enter the sea or approach the coast until the warning is lifted.”
Soon after the quakes, NHK reported that the first waves had reached the coast of Miyazaki, but more were expected.
