“Jammu’s GRP Highlights Drug Enforcement Success with ₹40 Lakh Heroin Seizure”

The Government Railway Police (GRP) in Jammu recently seized 80 grams of a heroin-like substance valued at approximately ₹40 lakh in the retail market. An FIR (number 14/2024) has been registered under Sections 8/21/22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigations are underway.

A GRP official stated that a thorough investigation will be conducted to trace both the source of the banned drug and any potential connections. This seizure marks the seventh case of banned drug confiscation by the GRP Jammu in the past two months, with a total estimated market value of around ₹96 lakh for the drugs seized during this period. The ongoing efforts reflect a heightened focus on combating drug trafficking and ensuring public safety.
