Jammu-Srinagar railway link to be connected this year: Union Minister

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav reached Srinagar on Saturday on a two-day tour of Jammu and Kashmir. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav traveled by train from Budgam station to Baramulla along with railway officials.

The Railway Minister will also inspect the world’s highest arch bridge being built on Chenab river in Reasi district on Sunday. This bridge is an important part of the Udhampur-Baramulla rail link.

Emphasis on developing infrastructure Let us tell you that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the budget of Jammu and Kashmir in Parliament this month, said that it is expected that by the end of the year 2023.

Kashmir will be connected to other parts of the country through rail network. During his visit, Vaishnav will review plans to develop railway infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. He will hold a meeting with departmental officers in Srinagar after inspecting Budgam station.
