In a press conference with media on Monday members of Jammu Private School Association (PSA) unit of district Samba raising their voice against local government said that they are going to stage a protest for their demands.
In the press conference one of the member said, “The tagging issue of JKBOSE who are tagging private schools with government schools; we along with other owners of district schools of Jammu province, teaching staff, non-teaching staff and drivers are going to stage a massive protest against J&K Board of Education Rehari. This tagging issue has become so concerning that from now onwards parents will not trust private institutions. A parent admits their child in private schools with faith but tagging private institutions means they are kidnapping and trapping children because government’s policy is not fair. If a school is lacking something or if there is any NOC problem then government should bring single-window system and revoke these orders against private schools.”
“We had meeting with different agencies and even with central body but they are just building hopes. Three days earlier, our central body gave representation infront of honorable Lt. Governor and Chief secretary but nothing happened.” he stated.
“In a democracy there is only one solution and that is to agitate against government until the regime not listens to us. If we shut our schools then how will our staff survive without salary” he further added.
He quoted, “I appeal to all the school owners of Samba district and their staff members to gather infront of JKBOSE Rehari to protest. Owners from different districts are protesting so, I request you to come together and handle this situation in order to fight against the politics of government by raising our voice in unison.”
The J&K Board of School Education in December last year started tagging of J&K private schools and so far tagged 45 private schools of Jammu and 65 private schools of Kashmir division have been tagged.
